Help protect your parked truck from rodents with the CoverSeal Heavy-Duty Weighted Truck Cover. Patented Ground Seal technology and a 360° weighted bottom create a protective barrier from the ground up, helping reduce pest access beneath the cover.

Rodent protection is built into the design

Whether your truck is parked between trips or stored for longer periods, CoverSeal's weighted bottom helps limit access around the base of the cover. Its non-form-fitting design provides coverage without the need for bungee cords or straps.

More than a weather cover

  • Patented Ground Seal technology helps reduce access by rodents and insects.
  • 360° weighted bottom creates a barrier around the cover's base.
  • Helps protect your truck from weather, dust, and dirt.
  • Stays in place without bungee cords or straps.
  • Includes a durable storage bag for convenient storage when not in use.

Choose the right fit

Compare the cover's sizing information with your truck's dimensions before selecting an option.

Rodents and insects may attempt to breach the cover. Ground Seal technology helps reduce the risk but does not guarantee complete pest exclusion.

INSTRUCTIONS AND ADVISEMENT

Note: This cover is heavy duty. It weighs 75lbs total.

A. Putting on the cover: None of the CoverSeal products are used like standard covers. They are unique. The most efficient, and less strenuous, means for putting on the cover isn’t like standard covers where it is put on the vehicle and rolled out. CoverSeal covers, and especially the Long Bed Truck cover, start out on the ground.

  1. Roll out the cover on the left side of the vehicle. The front has a FRONT logo on it and the rear has the CoverSeal logo on the back.
  2. Take the right edge of the cover and place it on the hood, side mirror and truck bed. Note: The right edge has pull over straps in the middle of the edge. Undo the Velcro and deploy the straps. Throw them over the top roof of your vehicle.
  3. With the straps over the vehicle pull these to get the cover further on the vehicle. Then walk around and release the cover if its binding on any edge to allow you to put more over the truck bed and hood.
  4. Once you have a little more than ½ of the cover on use the pull straps to get the cover on the other side. The weight will help pull it over. Walk around the vehicle and adjust the cover so it sits evenly and is uniform around the vehicle.

Note: you only have to do this the first time to get the cover over the vehicle.

There is a zipper on the bottom of the apron that allows you to separate the cover from the weighted bottom. The zipper is nylon and industrial strength. The pull ring cannot take the full weight of the bottom. Avoid putting a lot of stress on
this pull ring.

B. Taking off the cover. As mentioned above the zipper allows you to ingress and egress from the cover without having to put the whole cover over the vehicle.

  1. Go to the rear of the vehicle (CoverSeal Logo). You will find a vertical slit in the cover black apron held by hook/loop material. Detach this and access
the zipper. Carefully unzip the cover from the weight.
  2. Pull the cover only back over the vehicle and let it sit on the ground on the right side of the vehicle.
  3. Go back to the rear of the vehicle and expand the rear split so you can back out without running over the cover.
  4. Your DONE. When you come back do
this process in reverse. Make sure you have expanded the rear sufficiently so you don’t run over the cover when you get back in.

Cover Overview

See what makes this product great and what to consider

Pros

  • Protection from bird droppings – Bird droppings are highly acidic and can etch into the clear coat within hours, causing permanent stains. A cover acts as a physical barrier.
  • UV ray shielding – Prolonged sun exposure degrades the clear coat, leading to fading, oxidation, and micro-cracking. A quality cover reflects or absorbs a significant portion of UV radiation.
  • Defense against tree sap and insect residues – These organic substances are sticky, corrosive, and difficult to remove. A cover prevents them from bonding to the paint surface.
  • Reduction of airborne abrasion – In dusty or sandy areas, wind‐ blown particles can directly sandblast the paint. The cover absorbs the impact, keeping the original finish intact.
  • Protection from environmental pollutants – Industrial fallout, acid rain, and road grime are kept off the paint, reducing the need for frequent washing and chemical decontamination.

Cons

  • Micro ‐ scratching from friction – Even with soft inner linings, any movement of the cover (especially in windy conditions) creates relative motion against the paint, which can produce fine
    swirl marks (spider webbing).
  • “Sandpaper effect” from trapped dust – If either the car body or the cover’s inner surface is not perfectly clean, dust and grit become embedded. When the cover shifts, these particles act like abrasive grit, scouring the clear coat.
  • Wind ‐ amplified damage – In strong winds, the cover flaps and vibrates. This not only increases friction but can also cause the cover ’ s seams, zippers, or elastic edges to slap repeatedly against the panels, leaving localized rub marks.
  • Risk from improper installation/removal – Dragging the cover across a dirty surface during fitting or removal can drag dirt particles along the panel, creating linear scratches.
  • Moisture trapping – If the cover is not breathable or is put on while the car is wet, trapped moisture can promote water spots or, in extreme cases, mild mildew, which may affect the gloss.

Protection

Outdoor Protection

CoverSeal incorporates innovative patented Ground Seal protection, which helps prevent the outdoors from entering the cover. The Ground Seal secures the apron leaving no space critters to get in. Did you know a CarFax report showing outdoor damage significantly lowers the resale price of your vehicle?

Upgrade

Upgraded Durable Fabric

Based on customer feedback from our popular car covers, CoverSeal has doubled the thickness to increase durability of the truck cover and to create longevity in direct sunlight. The patent protected; weighted bottom apron has been re-engineered to a new, heavy-duty PVC coated Polyester with enhanced heat seal closure to prevent sand leakage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this cover suitable for outdoor use?

The light-duty indoor model uses lighter fabric with the same weighted ground seal as CoverSeal’s outdoor covers. It is intended for garages, barns and carports, where dust and rodent access are the main concerns. Choose a heavy-duty outdoor model for prolonged exposure to outdoor weather.

Can I use the cover every day?

Yes. The lighter indoor model is a practical choice for frequently covering and uncovering a garaged vehicle. Start with a clean, dry vehicle and a clean cover, and lift the fabric into place rather than dragging it across the paint.

How do I put the cover on?

Check the vehicle for signs of rodents or nesting first. Identify the front and rear of the cover, then drape it from front to back. Pull the weighted apron down so it contacts the ground around the vehicle, and check for perimeter gaps. Lift the cover during fitting and removal instead of dragging it over the paint.

Will the weighted cover scratch my paint?

Dust or grit trapped between any cover and the paint can leave fine marks. Cover only a clean, dry vehicle with a clean cover, lift it on and off rather than dragging it, and shake debris from the inside before storing it. The weighted design makes careful handling especially important.

Is the cover waterproof, and can moisture build up underneath?

The bottom apron is waterproof, but the light-duty indoor cover is not intended for outdoor weather protection. Cover a dry vehicle in a sheltered storage area. On CoverSeal’s outdoor models, the fabric is highly water-resistant rather than fully waterproof, and ventilation pockets help reduce condensation.

How should I prepare my vehicle for indoor storage?

Remove food, paper and other rodent attractants, clean the interior, and check for existing nesting before covering. Position the weighted apron against the floor around the vehicle. A ground-contact cover can help reduce rodent access, but it does not guarantee exclusion; continue checking the vehicle during storage.

What does the warranty cover?

CoverSeal’s warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for one year from purchase. It does not cover damage from sharp edges, antennas, accidents, extreme weather or ordinary wear.

Can I return an unused cover?

Unused covers can be returned within 30 days of delivery.

How do CoverSeal covers prevent rodent damage?

CoverSeal’s patented weighted apron rests on the ground around the vehicle, helping reduce perimeter gaps rodents may use to reach the engine bay, wiring or hoses. It can help reduce rodent access, but it does not guarantee exclusion—determined rodents can chew fabric. Check for nesting before covering the vehicle. This light-duty indoor cover is intended for garages, barns and carports to help with dust and rodent-risk reduction, not outdoor weather protection.

Is it OK for the cover to sit on the ground?

Yes. The weighted bottom apron is designed to rest on the ground and is made from waterproof tarp material more than 10 mil thick, suitable for concrete, asphalt, gravel or grass. The apron itself is waterproof; this light-duty indoor cover is intended for indoor or sheltered use, not outdoor weather protection.

Why isn't the cover more form fitting?

The loose fit lets the cover drape to the ground so its weighted apron can help reduce perimeter gaps. It is designed to provide a ground-contact barrier for indoor storage rather than a custom-fit silhouette. This light-duty model is intended for garages, barns and carports, not outdoor weather exposure.

Does the cover come in any other color?

This cover is available in silver. The fabric reflects about 90% of sunlight, helping reduce heat and sun-related fading or damage and helping extend the fabric’s life. This light-duty model is intended for indoor or sheltered storage, not outdoor weather protection.

Why doesn't the cover have side-mirror pockets?

Side-mirror pockets are not needed to help hold the cover in place. The weighted apron rests around the vehicle perimeter and helps reduce gaps without relying on mirror pockets. Check for existing rodents or nesting before covering.
